St. Simon Stock Youth Group - Disciples of Mary Youth Ministry

Join our Parish Youth Group! We invite students in grades 5th to 12th to join this wonderful youth ministry. We also encourage the parents and adults of our youth to come and consider volunteering a few hours a week or month to support, care and guide our child to develop their faith in God, love of God, family, neighbor, and country. Mission

The Youth Ministry at Saint Simon Stock is comprised of students in grades 5-12 and their families. Our mission is to create Christ centered community that embraces difficult questions, explores stories of faith, and cultivates young people to approach life with a sense of grace, compassion and justice. The Youth Ministry is modeled after our church mission statement with a focus on Worship/Formation, Service, and Fellowship.

Schedule of Events

Sunday monthly Youth Group Meet ups at Life Center 9am-12:30pm. Each meet up will provide 2.5 hours of community service with 1 hour of mass.

Follow Me - Youth Stations of the Cross

The “Follow Me” Stations of the Cross is a Gothic Re-enactment of the final steps of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We follow these 14 steps as we follow Jesus’ call to discipleship. We are all Disciples of Jesus, and this presentation is an expression of our love and reverence for our Lord.

Youth Group Community Service Projects

St. Simon Stock youth ministries provides a resource for all youth to grow by volunteering at local and global organizations. We are proud to share our ongoing youth group community service projects with many community service projects planned for upcoming school year.

  1. Wardrobe: Youth collected clothes and items to help support this non-profit organization that gives formerly incarcerated citizens and other adults in need of a fresh outlook on life to enter back into the workforce.
  2. Ukraine Community Service Project: Youth collected a van full of donations sent to Camden Catholic High School then to be shipped off to a contact in Poland where it would be directly delivered to families and individuals in Ukraine affected by the war.
  3. Cathedral Kitchen: Youth made meals at a few of their meetings that were delivered to help with mission in providing over 1600 meals a day for shelters and halfway houses in Camden County.
  4. Joseph’s House: Youth made casseroles to support those in need for a warm meal.
  5. Special needs students: Youth Group rallied together to assemble 200+ sensory care packages for kids with special needs.
  6. Summer Fundraiser: Youth sold dinner tickets, created silent auction, and set up a dinner theatre experience featuring live music from Les Misérables.
  7. Booksmiles: Youth Group & OLMC collected books to go to schools & families in needs of books.
  8. Harvest Festival: Close to 50 Youth volunteered to help with crafts, games, serve dinner during the annual harvest festival.
  9. Senior Thanksgiving Dinner: Youth made table decorations, set & cleaned up, served dinner to Seniors within the church community.
  10. OLMC coloring books: Youth group wrapped coloring books for young students at OLMC.
  11. Senior Cards: Youth group made and signed senior cards.
  12. Foster Families of NJ: Youth shopped for foster children in need of items.
  13. Homeless Blessing Bags: donations were collected, and bags were assembled for homeless.
  14. Family in Need: Youth shopped for family in need to help make a memorable Christmas.
  15. Ronald McDonald House: donations were collected to support families in need.
  16. Monthly Light Refreshments: September 2022 kicked off monthly “light refreshments” at the 10am masses for all parishioners to join.
